If anyone wants a scrubber like the one I have below, I can send the specs of what I used to make it, or make you one and ship it for a small price. here is what the tank looks like now…Time for coral =)

First, I tried this:

I liked the idea of a lid so that evaporation wouldnt be much of an issue, but this container (an old paintball case), was just too small to house the screen and have a bulkhead at the bottom. Also, I really like how reflective the white container is, something this color should produce ample light for the screen to grow algae real nice.

So, I went in search of another container and came upon this one at home depot:

I actually finished this design with piping and everything, but I didnt take any pictures of it because I really didnt like the way it turned out. First, I tried moving my tank out from the wall and putting this behind it and it just looked like crap. But, it did function pretty well. Also, I didnt really like the shape and it was still really hard to access behind my tank…so, I am still in search of a good set up.

Also, I have begun designing hang on back versions of the algae scrubber which I will attempt to build and sell. They will be small, but functional and efficient. Unfortunately, some of the parts that will be used in the designs are turning out to be rather expensive and I am estimating that finished products will cost around $200 – $300, which is a small price to pay considering it will replace several pieces of equipment.

Finally, the True Percula Clown pair that I bought with a green bubble tip anemone are doing great. The clowns have bonded with the anemone, creating, in my opinion,  one of the most beautiful symbiotic relationships this hobby has to offer. Here are a couple quick snap shots I took…the Iphone camera does not do it justice.

Over the weekend I picked up a couple new animals for the tank. I had been searching for a long time for 3 things that I found at 3 different local live fish stores. a sea hare to help clean up my dying algae, a nice size/colored anemone, and a pair of clowns. Below is a video of how everything looks since the addition of this scrubber.
