At this point, I was Pretty far along with the tank and didnt take too many pictures
My cycle had completed just about 3 weeks after the initial set-up and the first things I threw in were 3 peppermint shrimp and a Yellow watchman goby that my friend had. The reason he gave me the fish was because he was being picked on by larger fish in his tank and would have surely died if not transferred to another tank. When he arrived he was missing large pieces of all of his fins and very discolored. He made a full recovery in my tank and is doing very well.
Up until this point, I also had an arrow crab that was a very dominant part of the tank. He was a VERY good algae eating invertebrate. The only thing was he was also very pushy. He was in the tank for about a month before I bought a juvenile clownfish. He caught and ate the clown within the first night. Then, the next day, my arrow crab molted on his favorite spot in the tank – the overflow box. As soon as he came out of his old shell, he was immediately sucked into the overflow and lost 3 limbs. I was able to take him out, but when I came home from work, he was sucked in again and dead =(
This was also when I bought my first coral frag. When I first introduced the frag to the tank, It opened almost immediately. That night, my 3 peppermint shrimp did a real number on the frag and ate a few heads of the coral. Since then the shrimp we removed from the tank and all corals seem to be doing great!
